Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Activities- 2078/79

Activities in Education Sector

·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited giving continuation to CSR campaign “Education is Enlightenment” “Girl Child Education: One Branch-Two Girl Children” under which the Bank provided scholarship to two girl students (ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 12) from each branch of the Bank. The scholarship amount was provided into their account maintained at the Bank. This campaign is aimed to support the girl children of economically deprived family, for their education. During this fiscal year, the Bank provided scholarship support to 446 girl students.

·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited through the students of Budhanilkantha School provided Heating Equipment to Him Shikhar Secondary School located at Jumla for the smooth running of the classes during winter season.

·         The Bank provided Tracksuits and school bags to the lower income level communities’ students of Mahakali Basic School located at Ramechhap, Mudajor.

·         The Bank supported Pragyan Dristi Smart Education for conducting their Campaign “One Student- One Digital Library” where they are providing audio/video documentation of teacher/professor’s instruction, notes, question & answers from grade 6 to grade 12 which is useful to students.

·         The Bank provided financial assistance to Yogmaya Mahila Vidyalaya, an alternative school that has been educating and providing training to women from ages 15 years and above. The main objective of this organization is to provide education with skillful trainings to those women who are deprived of education due to some unfortunate circumstances and to build their independence for occupation.

·         The Bank provided financial assistance to Samata Education Trust that has been providing quality education to the children of low income groups to purchase education materials/supplies to help them to carry day-to-day activities of the school.

·         The Bank provided financial support to Shree Mahendra Namuna Ma. Vi. School, a fully Government owned school located at Mahakali Municipality 04 Khalanga Darchula, with moderate fees and scholarship scheme for deserving and the underprivileged students. The support was provided to help the school in their operations activities.

·         Mega Bank has supported Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City of Dang District for the program :df6{ 5f]/L lax]jf/L @) jif{ kf/L under which the Bank is providing financial support to the newly born girl children of 11 Wards of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City with the aim for the betterment of their education and reduce early marriage in that area.




Activities in Environment Sector

·         The Bank provided financial assistance in tree plantation program of “TEWA” in Pratappur, Manahari Municipality-06, Makwanpur District with the aim to plant fruits and mulberry saplings for greenery as well as income generation of community women of that area.

·         The Bank had conducted cleaning activities at Gahiti, Dhungedhara located at Thamel beside Amrit Science College, which is a historical monument of Thamel area.

·         The Bank built a garden with various plants in order to maintain greenery and fresh air in the premises of Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences (MIHS) which was also dedicated as a Center for the Treatment of COVID patients of Janakpur.

·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited provided financial assistance to purchase CNG gas conversion kits that will convert solid waste into Gas to run three-wheeler tempo at Dharan area. This support has been provided with an aim for solid waste management at Dharan Municipality and to run Environment friendly public vehicle.

·         Mega Bank distributed dustbins to Semlar Khanepani Upabhokta Samitee for proper management of waste.

·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited had supported Sathsathai Foundation a non-profit organization working towards injustice against women. This year the Bank has supported this organization in raising women’s voice from Kalapatthar, Everest region on 8th March 2022 with a slogan "Women United for Climate Justice" to mark the International Women's Day. The event had delivered the messages "No Climate Justice Without Gender Justice", "Building Back Better in the Himalayas Nature-based Tourism”. The event represented women from diverse professional backgrounds as Ambassadors of climate justice to Kalapatthar.

·         The Bank conducted cleanliness program at Shree Siddhababa Durga Bhawani Shivkumari Sainju Elders Home located at BP Chowk, provided dustbin at Shree Sahid Smriti Secondary School located at Dharan and Prembasti Higher Secondary School located at Bharatpur-07, Chitwan.

·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited supported Interdependent Society (ISS) of Surkhet for tree plantation program in Birendranagar (on the way of Ghantaghar to Bus Park).  


Activities in Health Sector

·         The Bank in coordination with Traffic Police had conducted COVID awareness activities and mask distribution to the general public at various places of Rupandehi District.

·         The Bank provided various precautionary items against COVID-19 in Shree Amar Shahid Dashrath Chand Basic School, Bardiya for the safety of the students and teachers.

·         The Bank conducted Cleanliness Program at Bardaghat Bus Park during Dashain.

·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited provided financial assistance in Blood Donation Program which were organized by different organizations: Tourist Guide Association of Nepal (TURGAN), Lions Club of Kathmandu Creation and Kantipur International College.

·         The Bank provided financial support for the treatment of Kidney Patient through Tourist Bus Association of Nepal.

·         The Bank had provided financial assistance for the medical expenses of “Divine Service Home” which is an old age Home located at Golfutar, Kathmandu. This old age home is providing facilities like routine living, food, clothing, shelter and medical treatment to old aged citizens.

Activities in Heritage Preservation and Cleanliness

·         The Bank organized and participated in cleaning of Heritages by joining hand with local authorities at various locations: Shiva Temple at Dhading, Shree Krishna Dham Mandir (highest Statue of Lord Krishna in Asia Continent) at  Sunwal, Ganesh Temple at Tansen, Sankata Mandir at Kathmandu, Siddheshwor Mahadev Mandir at Tripurasundari,  Sakhala Kalika Durga Devi Temple at Mathagadhi-4 Palpa, Darwaha Temple at Shudhodhan -5 Rupandehi, Chhakkubakku Temple at New Baneshwor, Shree Krishna Mandir at Khurkot, Gita Mandir,Hatkola Chowk Biratnagar, Ram Janaki Mandir at Kohalpur.

·         The Bank has provided financial assistance for the renovation of Prayag Pokhari which has historic and ethnic value in the Newar community of Patan.

·         The Bank also provided financial support in the construction of Shree Tripureshwor Mahadev Temple located at Bansbot Chowk, Pokhara which will provide additional beauty in tourist destination Pokhara.

Activities in No Hunger

·         The Bank provided food materials to the elderly people who have been provided shelter by Ni Sahay Sewa Sadan (Old Age Home) located in Shantinagar, Tinkune Kathmandu, Shree Sai Old Age Home located at Shantinagar, Bhairahawa, Chitwan Manab Sewa Ashram located at Bharatpur Metropolitan city -09 Sharadpur Chitwan.

·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited has provided financial assistance to Alleviate Poverty Empower Women in Rural Area of Nepal (APEIRON) located at Casa Nepal Mulpani, Kathmandu works with vulnerable women and children to overcome the barriers in their life, including gender-based violence, restricted access to and control over resources, low literacy, and other social, economic and legal challenges. The financial support was utilized on the food for children and women residing in this NGO.



Activities in Road Safety Awareness

·         The Bank with the coordination of Area Police Office and Traffic Office, Gokuleshwar Darchula installed Traffic Rule Awareness Board in Roadside with the aim to minimize and prevent road accident.

Activities in Decent Work and Economic Growth

·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited provided 2,000 pieces of Pocket Note Books to Mahanagariya Prahari Parisar, Teku for making them easier to record daily activities in reporting their work which had supported in maintaining peace and security during Local Election 2079.

Activities in Financial Literacy Programs

·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited under the Guidelines of Nepal Rastra Bank with an aim to achieve greater degree of financial inclusion towards Nepalese people had conducted various Financial Literacy programs from all seven provinces (59 programs). Various branches had organized financial literacy for Not Fixed Income Groups (Farmers/Small Entrepreneurs), Regular Income Groups, Students, Women Entrepreneurs and Remittance Recipients with an aim to provide financial knowledge which will be useful in their daily financial activities. Moreover, the Bank had also broadcasted financial literacy awareness jingle through FM Stations covering all provinces.


·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited organized various Financial Literacy Programs during “Global Money Week-2022” through all seven provinces (25 branches) where the Branches had provided financial literacy to Not Fixed Income Groups (Farmers/Small Entrepreneurs), Regular Income Groups, Students, Women Entrepreneurs and Remittance Recipients. The Bank had also participated in Financial Literacy Rally Organized by Nepal Rastra Bank on the last of “Global Money Week-2022” at Kathmandu.


Other CSR Activities

·         Mega Bank Nepal Limited supported homeless children which has been raised by “Sister Home Center" located at Tulsipur with stationery items and food items.

·         The Bank served the devotees with supporting stall in which water and juice were supplied during “Krishna Janmashtami” at Krishna Mandir, Patan premises.

·         On International Day of Disable Persons, the Bank through an NGO- Disable Care Nepal had provided 55 white sticks to differently abled people which will support them in their daily activities.

·         The Bank had provided warm clothes and food materials to the old aged parents who have been sheltered at Asahaya Jestha Nagarik Ashram, Sorakhutte Chowk, Kathmandu.
