CSR Activity -2075/76
Since
the inception, Mega Bank Nepal Limited has been actively engaged towards
contributing to the society and maintaining a strong relationship between the institution
and the community at large. In order to do so, the Bank has contributed in
various CSR programs including health, education, environment protection,
financial literacy, gender equality, victims from natural disasters etc.
initiatives, various NGO programs as well as supporting the less privileged
societies. Some of the major initiatives taken by Mega Bank during the
financial year 2075/76 towards social welfare has been listed below:
SUPPORT IN EDUCATION SECTOR
Ø Mega Bank Nepal Limited provided
education materials to Mahalaxmi Prathamik Vidhyalaya. Further, with an aim to enhance
awareness about environment and need for plantation, Bank staff members joined
hands with the students and teachers of the school in the tree plantation
program conducted in the school premises.
Ø Mega Bank supported by distributing
water to participants during Inter-school Oratory Contest conducted by Indrawati
Rural Municipality.
Ø Mega Bank contributed financial
support to manage and renovate the library of Nepal Law Campus situated at
Kathmandu.
Ø Mega Bank provided sweaters to the
students from economically deprived family of Jageshwor Secondary School
situated at Bhimsen Rural Municipality of Gorkha District in order to protect
them during winter from ‘Sitlahar’.
Ø On its 8th Anniversary, the
Bank provided financial support to one of the brilliant students from
economically deprived family living at rural part of the country. The Bank supported
for his further studies after Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
Ø On its 8th Anniversary, the
Bank also supported POURAKHI NEPAL, an NGO providing education support to
approximately 59 girl children from different parts of the country with an aim
to make them independent in the future.
Ø With an effort to ensure bright future
of gild children, Mega Bank has started a campaign named as “Education is
Enlightenment” where each branch has provided financial support and education
materials to one girl student from economically deprived family. Through this
program, the Bank supports these selected girl children from Grade 1 to Grade
12.
Ø The Bank supported for the renovation
of earthquake affected building of Shree Jalpa Madhyamik Vidhyalaya situated at
Sunkoshi Village Municipality of Sindhupalchowk District.
SUPPORT IN HEALTH SECTOR
Ø Mega Bank supported “Shree Krishna
Marg Tole Bikas Samiti” to organize health camp targeted for women at Dhapasi
area of Kathmandu District.
Ø Mega Bank in collaboration with
“Disable Care Nepal” provided 50 white sticks during “World White Stick Day” to
the people having loss of sight with an aim to make their daily activities
easier.
Ø With an aim to improve mental and
physical health of patients of Parkinson Disease, the Bank provided financial
support to “Nepalese Parkinson Disease Association (NePDA)” to purchase “Cross
Trainer Machine”.
Ø Mega Bank provided Automated External
Defibrillator Machine to UMN Community Hospital. The machine measures heart
condition of the heart patient.
Ø Mega Bank provided financial assistant
to “Society for Empowerment Nepal” to conduct health camp at Sankhu Bazaar,
Kathmandu.
Ø Mega Bank has supported District
Community Eye Center to organize Eye Camp at Chautara of Sindhupalchowk
District where the Bank’s staff members also provided voluntary service during
that camp.
Ø Mega Bank supported Nepal Cancer Survivors’
Society (NCSS) for health camp where screening of breast cancer, uteri cancer
and eye camp were conducted.
Ø Mega Bank provided financial assistant
to Lions Club of Kathmandu Creation to conduct blood donation program.
Ø Mega Bank also supported Positive
Inspiration Campaigning Nepal to conduct community based Eye Camp at Sankhamul,
Kathmandu.
Ø Mega Bank supported for the health
camp that was conducted at Salyan District for the people of locality where the
branch is situated.
Ø Mega Bank supported “EK EK Paila” to
conduct health camp. EK EK Paila is an initiative of a group of doctors and
volunteers in Nepal. It aims to provide best and free health services to the
people in the remote rural areas of Nepal.
Ø Mega Bank supported Rose Foundation
Nepal, an NGO to organize walkathon program with an aim to enhance publicity
and awareness on Breast Cancer.
SUPPORT IN TREE
PLANTATION
Ø Mega Bank extended support through
Katuwal Help Network Nepal for plantation of 100 plants (Rudrakshya and
Boddhichit) at Sunakoshi Rural Municipality of Okhaldhunga District.
SUPPORT TO VICTIMS OF NATURAL
DISASTER
Ø Mega Bank provided financial support
to purchase food materials for the victims of fire where 87 houses were
affected at Khanda Villlage in Palanta Rural Municipality of Kalikot District.
Ø Mega Bank also supported tarpaulins (tripal) to the victim of flood at
Syangja district.
SUPPORT FOR SECURITY AND
SAFETY MEASURE
Ø In order to make towns and cities more
safe and secured, the Bank provided financial support for the installation of
CCTV cameras in various parts of the country. The Bank provided financial
assistant through Makwanpur Chamber at Hetauda Bazaar Palikhechowk, through District
Administration Office, Kalikot at Manma Bazaar, through District Police Office,
Mustang at Jomsom Bazaar, through District Police Office, Kaski at Pokhara and
District Administration Office, Rupandehi at Siddharthanagar for installation
of CCTV.
LITERACY AND INFORMATIVE
PROGRAM
Ø Mega Bank took an initiative to
provide literacy and informative messages to the general public through 150
highway boards located in various places: Kathmandu to Pokhara, Itahari to
Birtamode, Butwal too Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj to Kohalpur. The Bank has
focused on informative and awareness messages related to traffic & road
safety and security measures, environment protection & awareness, Women
empowerment messages etc. These messages were also broadcasted through various
FM Stations.
SUPPORT IN VARIOUS
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Ø Mega Bank has supported Kumari Tole
Development Committee, a non-profit making organization to construct “Day Care
Center” for Senior Citizens of that locality.
Ø In order to protect street children
and senior citizens at Bhairahawa from cold during winter (Sitlahar), the Bank distributed blankets.
Ø Mega Bank supported Federation of
Women Entrepreneurs’ Association of Nepal for organizing empowerment of women programs
in various parts of the country.
Ø The Bank also provided financial
assistant to “Tewa” in organizing walkathon. Tewa is working in empowerment of
women in various parts of the country.
Ø Mega Bank supported Budhanilkantha
Municipality, Kathmandu to make informative stickers which contained phone
number of Police, Hospitals and other emergency numbers for the local people of
that locality, which could be helpful at time of emergency.
Ø Mega Bank also participate and supported
in environment cleanliness and protection activities at various parts of
Kathmandu valley.
Ø Mega Bank supported some street
children of Kathmandu and Pokhara by providing jackets during winter in order
to protect them with cold through the students of St. Xavier School.
